The St. Andrews Courses
The Old Course
The birthplace of golf, The Old Course at St Andrews is the oldest golf course in the world. Iconic features such as The Swilcan Bridge, The Road Hole and Hell bunker are well known to golfers across the world. As a public course held in trust by the St Andrews Links Trust, golf here dates back to the 15th century. Host of The Open Championship thirty times, The Old Course remains atop many golfer's list of must play courses.
The New Course
Built by Old Tom Morris in 1895, The New Course is "new" in name only. Stretching 6,625 yards with undulating greens and rolling fairways, The New Course provides a unique test differentiating itself from the more famous Old Course.
Carnoustie
The Championship Course at Carnoustie Golf Links has hosted The Open Championship eight times, The Senior Open Championship and Women's British Open on two occasions each. One of three 18 hole courses, The Championship Course is routinely considered one of the toughest golf links in the world. Links House which opened in 2018 provides seven simulator bays, practice putting green, chipping area and the 5 hole Nestie Course. Links House is home to The Rookery providing panoramic views of the golf courses and sea while offering the some of the finest locally sourced produce from the land and sea.
Kingsbarns
Eight miles south of the town of St Andrews, along the coast of St Andrews Bay, sits Kingsbarns Golf Club. Per golf historian David Malcolm, "Golf was resurrected on Kingsbarns Links at the dawning of the 21st Century. The only Scottish course to be built on links land in over 70 years and with its seaside setting, Kingsbarns joined the great old courses of nearby St Andrews and Carnoustie, bringing with it a new dimension to the traditional Scottish game."
Crail
Crail Golfing Society is the home of two challenging and unique seaside links courses. The original routing for the par 69 Balcomie Links was set in 1895 by Old Tom Morris and much is still used today. In 1998, the Gil Hanse designed Craighead Course was opened where players navigate over and around medieval revetted drystone walling that runs throughout the course.
