Southwest Ireland Golf Tour

The Old Course is a spectacular test of golf and one of the most popular sites of any course in Ireland. Praised by the likes of Tom Watson, Jack Nichlaus, Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, The Old Course is described by it’s head golf professional as “a second-shot golf course with greens full of subtle turns and breaks.”

One of our favorite courses in Ireland. #4 and #5 are two of the most famous holes that were untouched during a brief renovation in 2003, leaving them as designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894. #4 is a par 5 where the second shot is played over a tall, grassy mound called Klondyke Hill resulting in a blind landing. The flag man on top of the hill directing traffic is a great target. #5 is one of the only truly blind par 3’s in the world. The target from the tee is a white stone short of one of the dunes that hide the green.

One of the most spectacular golf courses in the world, Old Head is a visual, awe inspiring masterpiece. The cliff’s edges drop up to 300 feet into the Atlantic Ocean below where caves can be seen running under the golf course. #12 is a par 5 where the tee shot is played over the corner of a cliff’s edge as you head away from the clubhouse prior to turning back toward the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula providing a unique backdrop for photos.
